Year 2021 is an special anniversary year for ANEST IWATA.
It’s been 60 years since W-61 was sold to the market, and 50 years for W-71.
The spirit “Active with NEweSt Technology”, as our company name represents, is
the base of engineering of these spray guns.
Our “Earnest” and “Honest” endeavor to deliver the tools which spray persons wish for
has been rewarded with big fans who appreciate the spirit and the performance of our spray guns.
We could not celebrate the anniversaries without your warm support.

HISTORY
Ultimate form we have reached through our history.
The uniqueness of W-61 is the results of a trial and error process in designing the body, finding the balance between size and function.
The predecessor model, WIDER-59 was launched in 1959 as a middle-size spray gun. It took time before being accepted by the market. People were not used to the body size since a small-size spray gun (S-3) was popular at that time. The weak durability of the air cap was also the reason of the poor popularity.
In 1961, WIDER-61 (now W-61) was born as a solution. Not just clearing the challenges, size and durability, there were some improvements in atomization and function. ANEST IWATA introduced an engineering design method based on the correlation of air volume and atomized particle size. The study was resulted in the nozzle and the air cap that create the best atomization.
W-61’s unique functional design is one of the biggest reasons why there still are many fans after 60(!) years. The design which enables sprayers to control pattern adjustment knob in one hand.
There are reasons for long-lasting affections.
In 1971, 10 years after the successful launch of WIDER-61, ANEST IWATA gave birth to WIDER-71 (now W-71).
A large-size spray gun WIDER-70 was launched one year earlier to answer the requests from the market. The spray gun had high durability with design easy to maintenance. It was the first mass-produced model for the global market. ANEST IWATA took in another cutting-edge engineering method (at that time) with ergonomic study. Thanks to introducing a myoelectric sensor to measure muscle loading when pulling the trigger, we could standardized the best results, not relying on a person’s experience but on clear numbers.
WIDER-71 was an upgraded smaller version of WIDER-70. To improve the handling even better for the users, we measured size of more than 200 hands. The result of pursuing the best design and size for our users was WIDER-71’s body.
W-61 and W-71 are one of the symbolic spray guns which embodied “Active with Newest technology” sprit. W-61 celebrates 60-year anniversary and W-71 celebrates 50-year anniversary this year. We are very proud and happy that so many users around the world keep enjoying the spray guns.
PRODUCTION INTERVIEW
W-61is a spray gun with a unique design which enables users to control the pattern adjustment knob in one hand. The production process and tools are also unique and challenging.
Machine processing for the nozzle, which is the decisive component of spray performance, requires highly skilled operation because of the sophisticated structure. Quality Control is the foundation of manufacturing, and we make sure to keep it high level.
The factory was established in 1978. We have been striving for fulfilling our customers’ satisfaction and expectation for more than 30 years. We will keep on striving.

◎ How to use the spanner
①Insert fluid nozzle into a bigger hole of spanner.
②Slide spanner to fix fluid nozzle firmly.
③Rotate spanner to counter-clockwise to remove fluid nozzle.
Attention: When assembling or disassembling fluid nozzle, remove fluid needle in advance or pull trigger during the operation (to avoid damaging fluid needle).
